Customer Project 52 - Part 3

Customer Project 52 - Part 3

Previously two rooms, Client Amanda was keen to merge these two spaces to create a grown up snug with a cosy boutique hotel feel, which she could enjoy with her husband once their four children were in bed. I was keen to make the lighting special for her.

I suggested an identical light in each of the two zones to create the illusion that this had always been one room. This was also a way around the tricky supporting beam in the middle of the room which would have caused an obstruction had we decided to hang a central light.

As soon as Amanda shared her chosen wallpaper with me, the strokes of the golden leaves within its design immediately summoned the perfect light in my mind. The Strada by Kelly Wearstler mirrors the gild leaves on the wallpaper and replicates the golden glow the sunlight creates on the walls in this room at sunset. The gild Strada also creates a feeling of warmth at any time of day and in any season- come rain or shine (or snow!).

This is the third space we have completed in this house project. More to follow soon.
