Man with a Hammer Project phase 2

Man with a Hammer Project phase 2

Still one of the most magical projects in our portfolio and possibly the longest standing one too…It feels very special finally seeing our beautiful brass light gracefully floating above the kitchen island at Admiral’s.

A chandelier by @aerostudios, a designer I met on a buying trip @highpointmarket last year and who not only used to fly around in a Concorde with Mr Ralph Lauren while designing Mr Lauren’s homes, his pieces have also made an appearance on the big screen, namely in James Bond.

So... as I wait with bated breath for my other beautiful girls to take the stage in this long awaited project, it seemed the right time to mark my lighting design journey on this part of the house; the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen- and the result of over 4 years of Greg’s meticulous planning.

I can’t quite put my finger on what actually makes this entire place so special. The natural alchemy that this building radiates could be down to its period features, significant historical importance and the incredible people who have walked through its many (MANY!) doors… It could be due to the wonderful curated brands Greg has handpicked to work with…My instinct though tells me that the most significant reason for this “old lump’s” new found smile is thanks to the big friendly giant who lives there and continues to dedicate his every waking hour to his mammoth renovation, all while applying the greatest attention to detail, respecting her age and not ever doing her any disservice by cutting corners to save time.

Now with talk of Greg working on the wallpaper, introducing floral fabrics, and the kitchen electrics, I’m so excited I just don’t know what to do with myself…

Exciting times ahead!

And so my Admiral’s adventure continues…
